continuing education units
Yoga Foster is proud to partner with Courses4Teachers to provide teachers with the option of earning a professional development/continuing education credit for their participation in the Yoga Foster programming. In addition to Yoga Foster’s 5 hour online training, teachers must complete 10 hours of related activities to earn 1 credit. Professional development credits, issued by Courses4Teachers’ partner institution, University of the Pacific, help teachers who wish to apply for salary advancement and/or renew credential requirements.
WHAT ARE CEUS?
Continuing Education Units, also referred to as PD or Professional Development Credits, are graduate-level, University-granted credits. Sometimes, institutions use the term “professional development” to describe courses with credits applicable to state license renewal requirements, and use “continuing education” to describe non-credit courses. In this case, Yoga Foster is offering university accredited graduate-level credit. In most states, teachers must complete a minimum amount of professional development training or continuing education to maintain their licenses.
HOW DO THEY HELP TEACHERS?
While a certain number of CEU/PD hours are required to maintain teacher licenses, teachers may also opt to obtain CEUs for their own benefit, or for salary advancement.
